As most people know the dogs' ancestor is the grey wolf. But they have more ancestors, such as: Foxes, Ethiopian Wolf, Golden Jackal and the Coyote. These wonderful creatures were the first to be domesticated pets. Archaeologists and Scientists have evidence that the earliest dogs came from the Middle East. Although a lot of dogs look nothing like their ancestor, ( such as a Toy Poodle) and a lot of dogs look like their ancestor, ( such as a German Shepherd) they all have the basic body shape of a wolf.
